Fish’s squad will then head back to Madison Square Garden for Game 3 to host another 2013-14 playoff squad, the Charlotte Hornets on NBA TV .
D-Fish’s Knicks will have four meetings with their crosstown rival Brooklyn Nets, spread throughout the season. The first will come at the Barclays Center on Nov. 7, followed by a Dec. 2 showdown at The Garden. The Battle of the Boroughs then renews in February for a Feb. 6 meeting in Brooklyn on ESPN and an April 1 tilt in Manhattan on NBA TV closes the season series.
Derek will make returns to the various cities he called home as a NBA player, for the first time as a coach, throughout the 2014-15 season. The first of those trips will be to Oklahoma City on Nov. 28 at 8 p.m. ET. He’ll also take on his longtime squad, the Los Angeles Lakers, twice. First, the Knicks will host the Lakers on Feb. 1, and then New York travel to L.A. March 12, games which will be carried on ESPN and TNT respectively.
New York will also have a pair of marquee games against the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs: Dec. 10 on ESPN and March 17.
Another intriguing matchup will come Jan. 15 across the pond in London, where Fish’s squad will meet Jason Kidd’s Milwaukee Bucks.
The Knicks will also be in action for two of the NBA’s biggest holiday slates—Christmas and Martin Luther King Jr. Day. They’ll host the Washington Wizards for the Christmas Day matinee at 12 p.m. ET on ESPN, and take on the New Orleans Pelicans at MSG on MLK Day at 5 p.m. ET.
