Derek Fisher and the Los Angeles Lakers go for their eighth straight win tonight when they take on the Thunder in Oklahoma City.

Seven times this season, Los Angeles has won four games or more in a row, proof that the Lakers achieve victory at an incredible clip. No. 2 recently reflected on how much Los Angeles has won of late and said that sometimes it’s important to just step back and take a look at what you’ve done.

"We have to remind ourselves how difficult it is we’re trying to do. Even just by sheer numbers, I think at this point in the season going back to last season we’re 117-35. Sometimes in life, period, you have to stop and keep things in perspective."

Because of the number of games NBA teams play, Fish said it’s easy to pick apart all the negatives, but sometimes, it’s important to ignore the skeptcism and look at the results:

"

[Look at] what we are doing. We are winning games at a high rate."

Unfortunately, because of how talented the Lakers are, and what they’ve achieved in recent years, perfection is almost a demand:

"Because the expectations are so high for ourselves and we’ve established this level of accountability, we want to win a certain way," Fisher said. "We want to be more efficient. We want to play better. It’s not really about the final score. But we want to be more consistent as a basketball team. But at the end of the day, it’s just about winning games."

The Lake Show will face off against a rising team tonight that, at least this season, is winning at a clip just as good as Los Angeles.

The Thunder and Lakers last squared off on Dec. 22 with Fish dropping 15 points in the victory. The win was the third time LA beat Oklahoma City this season. Since then, though, the teams have had identical 30-14 records. As always, Fish knows, whether the Lakers win or lose tonight, the game will be dissected across the country.

"That’s part of being front and center, being on the cover page, being the most visible team in the league," said Derek told NBA.com. "It comes with the territory."
