Derek Fisher hit an amazing milestone against the Charlotte Bobcats Wednesday night, notching his 1,000 three pointer of his career.
Unfortunately, it was overshadowed by Phil Jackson surpassing Pat Riley for the Lakers’ winningest coach.
"It’s still a travesty that people don’t regard him as a coach," Fisher said. "People regard him as kind of a Zen Master and other things outside of coaching. Nobody has done what he has done. You can call it talent if you want to, I know a lot of coaches and teams that have a lot of talent that haven’t won 10 championships and at the percentage he’s won."
No. 2 diligently and patiently answered questions about the Zen Master, but when reporters seemed to be done with him, according to the Orange County Register, the modest Fish finally spoke up.
"When the questions finally died down, Fisher took a step toward the locker room door and only-half jokingly said, ‘This was great and thanks for asking me about my record.’ "

The Denver Nuggets come to LA tonight, and the Los Angeles Lakers seek to exact a measure of revenge for a November loss in Denver.
Fish still did his best to lead the Lakers, tossing out four assists on the night. He spread the wealth that evening, finding four different Lakers.
Despite the loss, No. 2 and Los Angeles still have the upper hand, having beat the Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals last year.
The Nuggets and Lakers meet in a primetime matchup seen on ESPN. Tip off is at 7:30 pm. PST.
