The Derek Fisher scoring streak continued on Wednesday night as Fish dropped nine points on the Charlotte Bobcats to aid the Los Angeles Lakers to a 99-97 victory.
The Lakers have now won seven straight games when No. 2 goes for eight or more.
Derek took a judicious five shots, hitting three of them, leading the Lakers’ starters in shooting percentage for the second time in three games. Fish was also perfect from the line, going 2-2, on his way to the nine-point night.
D-Fish started the game off right, swiping the ball from the Bobcats’ Stephen Jackson just 34 seconds in. Jackson had to foul Fish to prevent an easy two. It was one of two steals for Fish on the evening.
A couple minutes later, Derek started his scoring off with a three from five feet behind the line, bringing the game even at nine.
A minute later, he recorded his second steal of the night, thieving Nazr Mohammed. D-Fish missed the lay up, but Andrew Bynum was there for the tip in. No. 2 finished the first quarter with five points.
Fish then hit a basket in the second and one in the third to cap his individual scoring as the Lakers got their first win against Charlotte since February of 2008.
