At the end of last season, it was Derek Fisher hitting two threes at the end of Game Four of the NBA Finals to bury the Orlando Magic and send the Eastern Conference Champions spiraling toward the end of their season.
This year, in the rematch of last season’s Finals, Derek didn’t wait nearly that long to hit from behind the arc.
Fish hit two big threes in the early going and sealed the deal with a pair of free throws as the Lakers won their third straight game with a 98-92 win over the Orlando Magic.
D-Fish started the Lakers on a hot note, stealing a pass from Rashard Lewis and turning it into his first three of the day.
Then, just two minutes later, No. 2 hit another three, putting the Lakers up eight just four-and-a-half minutes into the game. Two minutes after that, he stole the ball from Matt Barnes and drove to the hoop, sinking a layup and putting the Lakers up 10, 18-8.
In just nine first quarter minutes, Fish went for eight points, with two steals and an assist, When he exited, the Lakers held a six-point lead.
After starting strong, Fish capped the night at the charity stripe. The Magic frantically fouled Derek to try and get back in the game, but Fish coolly knocked in two free throws to put Los Angeles up 10 with 30 seconds to go. The Lakers finished with a win, 98-92, and D-Fish, once again, got the better of the Orlando Magic.
No. 2 finished with 10 points, an assist and three steals.
