The Los Angeles Lakers once again dispatched with the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night, outscoring them by ten in the fourth quarter for a 96-87 win in Chicago.
Derek Fisher led the Lakers with five assists, the second time this year he’s topped the stat sheet for dimes.
No. 2 started off quick, notching a helper on Andrew Bynum’s opening basket and then added two more to Kobe Bryant in the opening period. Bryant finished with a season high-42 points despite a broken finger, something Derek credited to No. 24’s resolve:
"His desire and will to win is just greater than anybody’s I’ve ever seen personally," teammate Derek Fisher said.
Derek’s other two assists came midway threw the third quarter. He found Pau Gasol for an easy hook shot to put the Lakers up six, and then, just a minute-and-a-half later found Ron Artest for a deep three.
Chicago fought back to take a one point lead heading to the fourth, but from there, Los Angeles took over.
Fish also added one steal on the night, a first quarter swipe of Brad Miller.
NEXT UP: BUCK HUNTING
The Lakers continue their trip through middle America when they take on the Bucks tonight. Los Angeles has won three of its past four against Milwaukee. In those four games, No. 2 is averaging eight points, one rebound and 1.75 assists a game.
The Los Angels Lakers take on the Milwaukee Bucks tonight at 5:00 p.m. PST. The game can be seen on KCAL TV.
