Derek and the Lakers make the second stop on their seven-city tour tonight when they head to Oklahoma City to take on the resurgent Thunder.
Since staring the season with three wins in their first 32 games, the Thunder have surprised many with their solid play, posting seven wins in their past 12 games.
The Lakers will be in line to sweep the three-game season series with a win tonight and have won eight straight against OKC dating back to the franchise’s days in Seattle.
D-Fish is averaging eight points per game in two games vs. Oklahoma City this season and matches up with Thunder rookie point guard Russell Westbrook tonight.
Further preview provided by Lakers Blog Forum Blue and Gold:
“The Thunder will not be a pushover, this is a team that has beaten the Spurs and Mavericks this month already. And if you remember the last meeting between these two last month, it was one of those games where the Lakers starters built a big lead and the bench gave it all back. Phil left everyone in there to figure it out. The game stayed close for a few until Kobe returned — 5 of 6 from the floor in the fourth, got to the line 7 times, was a +13 for the quarter. Game over.”
Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. PST and all the action can be seen live, in LA on KCAL. Radio coverage is provided by KLAC AM 570.
