Derek and the Lakers suffered only their second loss of the season on Tuesday night, and it hurt.
Carrying a 15-point lead into the fourth quarter, Los Angeles let the Indiana Pacers outscore them, 32-16, in the final 12 minutes, and the Pacers won on a buzzer beating tip-in, 118-117.
No. 2 did his best to keep the Lakers on the attack, adding 10 points, four assists, three rebounds and a steal in the loss.
Bryant expressed the team’s feelings to the L.A Times:
“We could have done much better, obviously, defensively. We’re not happy about that.”
